Quest for Badlands Bark & Go Round
In Search of a fenced Dog Park
We discovered that we don’t have a safe fenced area to train and exercise our dogs in in the Alberta Badlands encompassing the Starland and Drumheller districts.
My daughter suggested we turn the old tennis court, which is no longer usable for tennis, into a dog park.
I mentioned this to a neighbor who happened to be on Morrin Village Council, they asked me to have Kendra share her vision at the Council meeting.
They gave her the go-ahead, and we have applied for Not-for-Profit status.
The plan
The Dog Park
We will turn the old tennis court into a gated dog park,
One side for agility training, the other for off leash play
You the Members
Members will have access to either side of the park based on the low monthly member fee they pay. Access codes will be given to access corresponding facility
Safety in Mind
We will be insured, and to keep risks of injury low, park times will be scheduled to prevent dog fights and bites.

To Whom this may concern,
We hope your tail starts wagging as you read this letter. We are bringing a playground and training facility for dogs to bring their humans to.
I discovered a need in the area for a large, fenced space where people can take their dog to train without the worry of them running off because of a…Squirrel! That is why, with the help of my mother, I have approached the Village of Morrin about turning the old tennis courts into a Dog Park and Training facility. I was given approval, so my mom and I started the process of getting Not-For-Profit status so we can get the required insurance. We are close to spring start up but need some help from people and companies like yourselves.
With your donation today, we can purchase the materials needed to build the equipment or buy it. We could use donations of materials or cash. How we would like to give back to you for your support, is to advertise on one of our three Sponsor walls.
Level 1 (up to $50)- a sticker with your logo will be applied on the main gate to the park.
Level 2 ($51 to $150)- a 4”x4” space on the North entrance by the Agility Park and future bleachers.
Level 3 ($151 and up)- a 4’X4’ sign on the West side facing the main roadway.
An option we would like to also offer, is “Adopt a Feature”. This is where you could pay for/donate/or make any item on the list, and we would put your name on it as a permanent advertisement and legacy to you. (Some restrictions apply as it needs to meet safety requirements)
Your gift will help dogs, in and around the area, burn off energy and bond with their humans in a safe and controlled manner.
Sincerely,
Kendra Scott
